Solace

“Mom…Can I…talk to you about something?,” the son asked his mother with the gnawing pain inside him.

She came close, looked into his eyes, and said, “You can tell me anything son.” 

For a few moments he stood there in silence, gazing at her serene face. Then he said with a smile, “I am fine. It doesn’t bother me anymore.”
